About Allos Documents

Allos Documents was founded by Chicago-based clarinetist/composer James Falzone as the label and publishing arm of Allos Musica, an umbrella organization created to organize his diverse activities spanning the genres of classical, liturgical and creative improvised music. Building on the widespread critical success of its latest release, KLANG’s Tea Music, Allos Documents will be expanding in 2010 with the intent of releasing more recordings by a wider range of musical artists (including Tim Daisy’s Vox Arcana) and publishing a series of choral, orchestral and chamber music compositions Falzone has premiered around Chicago over the past three years.

Composing yearning lyrical lines filled with dramatic turns of phrase and dynamic shifts in mood, his writing style blends the angular rhythmic punch and spontaneous freedom of Henry Threadgill with the folksy, subdued lyrical quality of Jimmy Giuffre and the esoteric mysticism of Oliver Messiaen.”
