Vancouver’s Time Flies Improvised Music Festival Begins Tonight

(February 4, 2010)

It’s been an incredible week for music in Vancouver.

This past weekend, the city became the center of the Anthony Braxton universe, hosting not only the legendary saxophonist/composer’s 12+1tet, but also the day-long world premiere of the Sonic Genome Project.

After a few days of down time, our own Taylor Ho Bynum and Mary Halvorson, and fellow Braxtonites Jessica Pavone and Sara Schoenbeck, will join forces with Mei Han, Fred Lonberg-Holm, Torsten Müller and Dylan van der Schyff for three days of creative music at the 22nd Annual Time Flies Improvised Music Festival.

Learn more about this event, which will feature these eight musicians improvising together and in different combinations, in these previews in Kelowna.com, Straight.com and the Vancouver Sun.
