Pianist/composer Peter Madsen and his trio, featuring bassist Andy McKee and drummer Gerald Cleaver, will perform tonight at Black-eyed Sally’s in Hartford and tomorrow night at The Hotchkiss School in Lakeville.

These are the band’s first performances in Connecticut since recording its forthcoming live release, The Litchfield Suite (Playscape Recordings), at the 2008 Litchfield Jazz Festival, which commissioned the titular suite of original pieces and presented its world premiere.

The group will be previewing music from the record, coming March 16th, during both concerts, and will return to Connecticut on June 4th for a two-set performance at Firehouse 12 in New Haven.
