The ExPosed Blues Duo‘s ongoing collaboration with cellist Tomas Ulrich continues tonight at New York’s 55 Bar.

Originally a side project of the Fay Victor Ensemble, this three year-old pairing of vocalist Fay Victor and guitarist Anders Nilsson has taken on a life of its own, performing regularly at venues around New York and beyond.

Its distinctively unconventional interpretations of spirituals, early 20th century blues and jazz standards have earned rave reviews, and attracted such high-profile guests at Ulrich, drummer Tim Daisy and cellist Fred Longberg-Holm.

The ExPosed Blues Duo’s debut CD, BARE (Greene Avenue Music), will be released August 31st.
